2018 "Scharzhofberger" Riesling trocken GG,
Weingut VAN VOLXEM
Bright golden yellow, elegant, the Scharzhofberger presents itself with the delicate, precise minerality of this truly great location. A stimulating and at the same time smooth mouthfeel with an enchanting aroma of ripe yellow fruits and refreshing mint.
With its captivating aroma of ripe yellow fruits of apricot, quince and Mirabelle, interwoven with refreshing mint, this fine Cru blends perfectly with fish or shellfish. In 1895 Christoph Schauffler, Dean of Wiltingen wrote this description:
“In the area of Wiltingen, Scharzhofberger, the king of all wines from the Trier region, has its seat. But unfortunately because of its high price, it is only affordable to a few mortals who can refresh themselves with this fragrant blood of the vines.”
