2008 "Sammarco" Toscana IGT, Castello dei Rampolla

Sammarco ist ein Wein mit frischen und feinen Aromen von Unterholz, mit einer tiefen und intensiven Farbe.
Präsentiert spezifische Aromen des Bodens und Eindrücke von reifen Früchten. Er hat eine große Konzentration an robusten Tanninen. Eleganter und raffinierter Wein.
Dem Cabernet Sauvignon werden Anteile von Sangiovese und Merlot zugesetzt.

Die Produktion variiert je nach klimatischen Bedingungen:
8000 - 25000 Flaschen.

The 2008 Sammarco is striking. Freshly cut flowers, red berries, mint and licorice burst from the glass. The 2008 is remarkably open and vibrant today, but it will almost certainly shut down with more time in bottle. Today the 2008 impresses for its length and pure, mineral-infused fruit. Dazzling aromatics, beautifully delineated fruit and fabulous structure all come to life in this stunning, breathtaking wine. I wish every Wine Advocate reader could taste this wine. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2038.

James Suckling:
Ravishing aromas of currants and black fruits follow through to a full body, with super velvety tannins and a long, long finish. It lasts for minutes on the palate. Wonderful. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Merlot. From organically grown grapes.

Vinous:
The 2008 Sammarco is one of the more mid-weight, feminine wines in this vertical. Smoke, black cherries, mint, cloves and violets open up in the glass. This is another Sammarco that won't take forever to open up. Lithe, feminine and gracious, the 2008 is similar in style to the 2005, but a bit sweeter through the middle. When it was younger, the 2008 was more impressive, but it seems to be going through a dormant phase today.
