2012 Saffredi, IGT Toscana, Fattoria Le Pupille
James Suckling:
"This is another great Saffredi following the perfect 100-point 2012. I tasted it a year ago and thought it was sensational. Even better now. It's so dense and structured yet shows a lively, jazz-like vibe that gives it form and beauty. Needs at least four to five years to soften. Powerful and muscular. Cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot."
Decanter:
„After a slow start, a good growing season produced a lateish crop in excellent condition. The blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. It has beautifully lifted and fragrant aromas of violets, spice and luminous black cherry. The palate is dark, sultry, slightly brooding and Cabernet-focused, with deep, dark fruit, luxuriously silky tannins and effortless freshness. A long future is assured.“
