2011 Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru AOC, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti

The 2011 Romanée-St.-Vivant from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is a superb example of the vintage and a classically red fruity and spicy rendition of this supremely elegant terroir. The exceptional bouquet offers up scents of raspberries, cherries, lovely minerality, Vosne spice tones, duck, raw cocoa and a generous base of spicy new oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, pure and very transparent, with a great core of pure fruit, suave tannins and a very long, complex and tangy finish. A beautiful, young example of RSV.
