AOP - Appellation d’Origine Protégée (AOC)
The Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Pucelles offers up a ripe but reticent nose of lemon cream, mandarin, yellow orchard fruit and apple blossom. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and the most ample of Leflaive's premier crus this year, with a glossily textural attack, good depth at the core and grand cru amplitude followed by a saline, tangy finish. In style, this Pucelles nods to neighboring Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, but it isn't quite as concentrated, and I'd expect it to offer more precocious appeal in its youth.
