2019 Completer, dichtes, helles gelb, Aromatik nach grünen Äpfeln, Quitte, Nüssen und Mandeln, rassiger Gaumen mit interessantem Süsse-Säure-Spiel, eine Rarität für Liebhaber alter, säurebetonter Sorten. Entwickelt verblüffende Reifearomen bei der Lagerung.

Seit mehr als 100 Jahren befindet sich das Weingut in der Hand der Familie Donatsch. Hier wurden die ersten Chardonnay-Trauben in der Bündner Herrschaft gelesen und die ersten Weissburgunder-Stöcke gezüchtet. Hier wurde der erste Cabernet Sauvignon verkostet, der erste Malanser Crémant nach der Champagner-Methode hergestellt und auch die ersten Barriques in Graubünden verwendet.

-- Parker: The 2019 Completer Malanserrebe offers a clear, deep and intensely aromatic yet elegant and finely flinty bouquet of ripe and tinned fruits that definitely makes it an 'umlaut' white that could perhaps be mistaken for a Veltliner from Lower Austria. Rich and juicy on the palate, the 2019 reveals a full and intense body with a concentrated texture and smooth mineral acidity combined with fine but grippy tannins and, still, a certain alcoholic bitterness that might become more prominent with bottle age. Yet the finesse and mineral purity on the finish and aftertaste, even after five days from the same bottle, is remarkable. A certain robustness is obligatory for Completer, though, but nevertheless, this is one of the finest Completers I have encountered in 20 years. 14.5% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Very citrusy with a touch of ice bon-bon, this bold dry white is so crisp that you really don’t feel the alcohol (14.5%). Intense, salty minerality at the very refreshing finish. Drink now.
