Grand Cru
2016 Bienvenues Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru,
Domaine Leflaive
Vinous:
"Bright, pale yellow. Expressive, highly nuanced nose combines stone fruits, lime blossom, white pepper, honey and crushed stone. Sweet, plush and silky; more glyceral than the Pucelles and showing a rare sucrosité for this grand cru in the early going. Wonderfully fine-grained, harmonious and long on the aftertaste."
Decanter:
The domaine’s vines in Bienvenues produced seven barrels in lieu of a normal 22 in 2016. The wine is lovely, wafting from the glass with aromas of tangerine oil, Meyer lemon, pear, subtle spice and iodine. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, glossy and elegant, with good concentration, chewy extract and succulent acids. Drinking Window 2022 - 2035.
Wine Spectator:
hough rich, this white is also dense, giving a feeling of intensity to the white peach, citronella and pastry aromas and flavors. Well-proportioned, yet will require some time to really harmonize and reveal all its charms. Long, mineral-tinged finish.
