2009 "Brunello di Montalcino Annata" DOCG, Tenuta Biondi Santi 

Vinous:
Vivid full red. Red cherry, raspberry, violet, minerals and licorice on the pure, captivating nose. Penetrating, savory and sweet, with terrific energy and purity to the sappy red fruit and mineral flavors. The vibrant, pure finish is firm and gripping but not particularly tannic. Tasted four different times since January of this year: I scored one bottle 93, two bottles 92 and one 90, so I'll go with the median score. Another very successful, archetypically pure sangiovese from Biondi-Santi.

Raffaele Vecchione: 
Maturo e bohémien nel profilo principale regala note di prugne rosse disidratate, pinoli tostati, aghi di pino, canfora, fiori di tiglio appassiti e terra bagnata. In sottofondo un primo accenno terziario racconta di cuocio e polvere di cannella. Corpo medio-pieno, struttura delicata piacevole nel sorso e nel profilo tannico poco mordente ed un finale di media tensione e buona bevibilità. Bevi ora o invecchia. 

Gilbert & Gaillard: 
Garnet with ruby highlights. Full, harmonious nose of rose, violet and undergrowth with fruit notes of morello cherry, redcurrant and citrus then mint, tobacco and sandalwood. Delicious palate showing elegantly austere, noble tannins. Very fresh and long.
